Dick Kings

Old book man turns 200 today.
There wasn't a bleak house in the world as the chimes were rung and everybody got their noses into one of his novels, especially in London and Paris.
Celebrations for our mutual friend began at his birth place in Portsmouth and then at Westminster Abbey, London where people gathered with great expectation to see a prince lay down a wreath.
Born on this day in 1812, he lost the battle of life in 1870 aged 58.
